Metallic Menu Sign

Metallics are so in right now and I understand why. They give things a polished and modern look. If you’re interested in trying the trend, one product that you’ll want to have is DecoArt Metallic Lustre. It’s unlike anything I’ve worked with before. It’s very cool!
To make this menu sign, I grabbed a white chalkboard sign, Metallic Lustre in Rose Gold, a rag, masking tape and DecoArt Stencils.
I also used masking tape to protect the chalkboard surface while using the wax.
So what is Metallic Lustre? It’s a water based not toxic (non messy) metallic wax. You can use a soft cloth or a sponge to apply Metallic Lustre to surfaces including wood, metal, unglazed ceramic, walls, paper mache and canvas.
I just put a dab of the wax on my rag and applied to the wooden surface. It adheres really easily.
It’s a paste so it’s easier to create with than traditional paint. I just kept dabbing and buffing until the entire surface was covered. Then I let it dry overnight.
Then I used DecoArt stencils to add the word “Menu” in chalk.
Finally, I added some pumpkins, leaves and burlap to showcase the pretty rose gold sheen.

Love how it turned out! Beautiful!! Perfect for Fall :)
