Fall Harvest Blog Hop
Fall Harvest Blog Hop
This is my favorite time of year and I am so excited to {literally} dive into a leaf pile of fall fun. Today I am participating in the Fall Harvest Blog Hop. Over a hundred bloggers are sharing their autumn projects and recipes. It’s going to be a blast!
I love baking this time of the year… especially if I can stay in my pj’s all day and putter around the kitchen! This is one of my best-loved recipes from my Aunt Tania. She calls in Banana Bread, but I renamed it Comfort Bread… because to me, it’s pure comfort food!
- Dry Ingredients
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/4 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup of sugar
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup diced walnuts
- 1 cup mashed bananas (3 ripe bananas)
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Sift dry ingredients together through sugar
- Combine eggs, oil, mashed bananas
- Add to dry ingredients
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts
- Beat until smooth
- Bake in a greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan for one hour or until toothpick comes out clean
- Cool before slicing
I love this yummy bread!

I’m confused about the amount of flour listed in the ingredients. How much is needed? thank you.
Hi Bobbie, So sorry for the typo– it’s 1 1/4 cups flour. Thanks! Malia
I sure could go for some comfort bread right about now. This looks delicious! Pinned :)
