Give a Shot® Bin
It’s that time of year when us moms are getting the kiddos set for a new school year including shopping for school supplies and making sure they get their immunizations. Like most parents, I don’t have a ton of time to run around, but I have found a solution. Walgreens is the perfect place to do both! That’s right, kids can get their immunizations at Walgreens.
Isn’t that awesome? And it gets better. If you have a school-age child age 7 or up… your family can actually help a kid in need! When your kid gets their important school vaccinations (like whopping cough or meningitis) at Walgreens they will also be providing essential vaccines to a child in a developing country!
It’s part of the United Nation Foundation’s Shot@Life Campaign. Pretty amazing, right?
If your youngster is scared of getting shots (like my 8 year old is) sharing the info about the Walgreens Get a Shot, Give a Shot program #GiveAShot #CollectiveBias can help your kid see the bigger picture and make them feel proud about helping another child. Another idea to help ease your kid’s anxiety about getting a shot is to create a special “Give a Shot” Bin.
The idea behind the bin is to stock it with full stuff from Walgreens and use it as a reward for your child if they get their immunizations at Walgreens without any issues. For by daughter, I chose a comforting stuffed animal.
Some bubbles, and some creative art supplies.
Your kid will feel so awesome about themselves knowing that they are making a positive difference in the world (and the special “Give a Shot Bin” will help too)!
